Capital Karts London

This track is fantastic, with over 1km of professionally designed karting track waiting to be put to the test, Capital Karts certainly live up to their claims of the UK’s longest indoor go karting track.

Capital Karts is three times the length of a standard indoor go karting circuit and nearly twice the length of most multi-level circuits, this combined with a brand new fleet of 270cc RiMO karts makes for a great experience.

It's also worth noting that Capital Karts has won multiple awards including Indoor Go Karting Track of the year 2015 & 2016 and have an army of happy customers and fans on social media, much more than any other go karting London based karting venues.

The track layout and design at is far wider than most other tracks and their barrier system is something we hadn't seen before and it looks fantastic with their branding stickers the whole length of the track.

The karts were a pleasure to drive, new and well maintained they were plenty fast enough for the venue, we hadn't driven RiMO karts before and was impressed with the build quality and feel.

Capital run two fleets of karts including 25 x 270cc Honda GX RiMO adult karts and 20 x 160cc Honda GX RiMO kids karts.

In our opinion Capital Karts is currently the best karting venue in London and possibly the UK, great venue and facilities, the track is challenging but fun, each time we have visited the staff have been polite and helpful and the whole experience has been great.

Their "Sprint" sessions start at a modest £27.50 per driver for adults and £24.00 for kids for a 20 minute session which compares to other venues in London so it's great value for money.

For those seeking a more competitive race Capital Karts also offer other formats including Grand Prix and Endurance races, we competed in a Grand Prix race with 18 drivers and it was a great race format with a 15 minute practice / qualifying round to sort the grid positions and then a 35 minute race.

Venue Summary

As far as London based go karting tracks go you don't get much better than Capital Karts, far bigger than all other go karting London tracks, competitively priced and with great social media reviews, it's no surprise we voted Capital Karts as our Recommended Track.

Based in East London, Capital Karts is 20 minutes from central London and has excellent transport links and free parking.

Go Karting London definitely recommend visiting here, the Grand Prix races seem to be the most popular with weekend races generally being the busiest so book in advance.

Revolution Karting London

Based in Mile End, Revolution have been around for quite a while now and offer a no thrills go karting experience in a great location.

Our experience at Revolution Karting was average and lived up to what we expected, we left the venue with mixed opinions both negative and positive.

Revolution's website claims their track is 750m in length however when we arrived at the venue it was quite apparent it was around 500m in length at best, nevertheless Revolution have been around for quite some time now and the track has proven to be a hit.

The venue, track and karts appeared very run down in comparison to rival tracks in London, the acceleration and speed of the karts was a lot better than we was expecting but they did seem to lose speed after the 5th lap.

We were averaging 30 second lap times and had paid £25.00 for 2 x 8 lap sessions, this equates to just 8 minutes of karting which is far more costly than other tracks. That said if you are a slower driver then you would get better value for money.

We wouldn't recommended Revolution Karting for anyone seeking a challenge but they may be suitable groups with less karting experience or those looking to race for fun.

Venue Summary

If you are looking for a no thrills go karting experience close to central London then Revolution may just be the right track for you.

Based in Mile End the track is conveniently located with Mile End park within walking distance and Docklands in the background.

Unfortunately it would appear Revolution Karting has fallen into disrepair over the years, the track and facilities are majorly lacking and out of date in comparison to other local karting tracks and this does detract from the experience on offer.

We wouldn't recommend Revolution Karting, if you are planing to go karting in London there are plenty of other far superior tracks nearby and at less cost to your wallet.

Surbiton Raceway London

Surbiton Raceway is a well established outdoor venue within reach of central London.

Surbiton Raceway is a nicely presented 700m go karting circuit surrounded by trees and well maintained grass verges, they also have great on-site facilities and free parking.

The sessions are reasonably priced if you intend on doing more than one, we raced for 30 minutes spread out over 2 x 15 minute sessions for £35.00 which is a fair price for the experience you get.

The track is a fully flood lit tarmac surface with large grass run off areas, the track layout is not very inspiring and is similar to a simple oval albeit with a few bends thrown in for good measure.

Because of the simple layout the track can be driven at full throttle through most of the corners and as such is not very challenging for anyone with a just a little karting experience.

Surbiton do have a smaller kids circuit with a more standard layout including hairpins and sweeping corners and offer great offers for kids go karting.

The karts are well maintained and powered by a 200cc Honda GX engine which in our opinion seemed a little under powered considering the track layout but for most drivers they will be plenty fast enough to get the adrenaline flowing.

Our experience at Surbiton Raceway was a good one, it's just a pity they haven't thought of making better use of the space available to create a bigger and more challenging track.

Venue Summary

Surbiton Raceway is a great outdoor circuit with huge potential, they also run a smaller kids track for budding racers to aged 6+

A great day out for novice drivers are kids this track is the only professionally run outdoor track in London and is suited for drivers of all ages and ability.

Racing outdoors offers a different experience to indoor karting it can be great in the summertime but not so much fun in the winter unless you wrap up warm.

The tracks at Surbiton are well presented and cared for and the site is surrounded by trees making it easy to forget you are close to London.

We would visiting Surbiton Raceway if you are seeking an outdoor karting experience without travelling outside of London.

TeamSport London - Charlton

Don't be fooled by the name, TeamSport Docklands is not actually located in Docklands they are in fact located the other side of the Thames river in Charlton.

The venue maybe a little tricky to find if you have never visited before as it is based on an industrial estate so plan your route if you indent to visit.

We travelled by public transport and the bus stop is quite a distance from the venue so it was a little difficult to find at first and it did involve a fair bit of walking but those travelling by car should be able to get there easier.

The signing in process / pre-race briefing was very straight forward and conducted professionally and in what seemed like no time at all we were changed into race suits and ready to race.

The circuit is a great layout and a claimed 800m however we estimate this is more likely closer to 600m but it was still great fun to drive.

Our only criticism would be the track wasn't as pretty as other tracks in London, the off-track facilities and areas looked great but the track itself looked very dull and unappealing.

The staff were helpful and friendly but seemed to lack interest once our session had ended, a thank you or goodbye would have been nice but nevertheless it was a good experience over all

We raced in 2 x 15 minute sessions during the midweek and was joined by 3 others on track, the circuit is great fun and a challenging drive but maybe a could do with more grip as it was a little slippery in places.

The karts are well maintained and equipped with a 270cc Honda GX LPG engine which is plenty fast enough around here, the pick up speed out of the corners was ok which should be helpful for larger drivers.

We would recommend TeamSport Charlton if you are local to Charlton or have a vehicle, visitors to London traveling by public transport may find it difficult to find in comparison to other London karting tracks.

Venue Summary

Formally called "The Raceway", TeamSport's Charlton track is a good all round indoor track with great facilities and attention to detail.

Ideally suited to those travelling by Car as the location can be a little difficult to reach by public transport.

The track design is good given the small space available but it is lacking the fine details and looks quite bland and unappealing.

TeamSport Charlton also have a "full course yellow" rule when incidents occur, this ruined our session and since reading online reviews it appears we are not alone so bear this in mind if you are thinking of booking.

We would recommend visiting TeamSport Charlton if you have tried other tracks and fancy a change but in our opinion you will have a better experience racing at nearby Capital Karts.

TeamSport London - Acton

TeamSport's Acton venue is a well established 500m multi-level indoor karting circuit located just outside West London in Acton close to transport links and local amenities.

We raced in 3 x 10 minute sessions which was a nice race format for a track of this size, we imagine that longer sessions would soon become repetitive as the track is so small.

On arriving at the venue we wasn't overly impressed with the setup, the track seemed very uninviting in comparison to their other London based tracks and appeared to be the runt of the litter.

The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our sessions, the marshals were more lenient than other go karting venues we have visited but then there was only four of us on track.

In general we are not fans of electric powered karts but they did perform well with good acceleration and top end speed but for us was lacking the satisfying sound of a combustion engine.

The karts were well maintained and evenly matched and were great fun to drive as you would expect from Biz karts.

One point Acton was hugely lacking on was the quality of the track, whilst it is multi-level and a good layout the surface was horrible to drive on and very slippery even with fresh tyres.

The barrier system and general track appearance was lacking, dimly lit and with plain black tyres it was quite intimidating and unappealing to drive.

The off-track facilities were better and more than suitable but they did seem a bit dated and not in keeping with other TeamSport tracks.

Venue Summary

A good go karting venue located just outside West London, we would recommend you visit TeamSport Acton if you are in the area however we wouldn't travel out of our way to visit again.

For less experienced drivers or those just looking for a quick race then Acton is perfectly suited for you, the circuit and karts were fun to drive and sliding around combined with the high torque of electric karts made it a challenge.

If you are looking for an unforgettable experience then Acton is probably not the place to visit, the track could be vastly improved cosmetically and for the price you may be better off choosing a different go karting London track.

TeamSport London - Edmonton

This circuit has recently been extended and second level mezzanine has been added bringing the track length up to a claimed 800m.

Dispite the recent upgrade Edmonton appears to fall short in terms of quality in comparison to other Go Karting London tracks.

Whilst being perfectly safe and well maintained the track was very bland and unappealing to drive mostly down to the poor lighting and plain black imposing barrier system.

The track is a good layout and does have a few challenging corners but it can soon become unchallenging with most corners being taken flat out.

The karts were well maintained and powered by a 200cc Honda GX engine, performance was as expected from a kart of this class however they did seem to struggle a little going up the ramp to the top level.

As with most TeamSport venues the main focus is on the facilities and interior finish of the venue rather than making the circuit look and drive great too, this is somewhat frustrating as a visitor.

Edmonton has everything you need from a go karting track and is suitable if you are nearby, if you are prepared to travel then there are other go karting london venues that offer a better overall experience.

Venue Summary

TeamSport Edmonton is conveniently located with good transport links, ideally suited for those local to Edmonton or if you are in the area, if you are prepared to travel then we would recommend you check out one of the other London go karting tracks listed on this site.

The track quite slippery and narrow in places and has recently been extended to a claimed 800m but we estimate this is closer to 600m with an average lap of 45 seconds.

As with most TeamSport tracks the facilities and attention to detail is great and the circuit is professionally run by a friendly team of staff however the attention of detail doesn't seem to extend to the circuit appearance.

We would recommend TeamSport Edmonton if you are in the area, it is not the best go karting track in London but it's certainly not the worst either.

TeamSport London - Bermondsey

Also known as TeamSport Tower Bridge the venue is in fact located over 1 mile away in nearby Bermondsey, TeamSport seem to have a habit of incorrectly naming their tracks to suit their brand, we can only assume the marketing team failed their geography exams.

As with most of the other TeamSport tracks our experience at Bermondsey was similar to what we received at Acton and overall we would rate our experience at Bermondsey as average.

TeamSport Bermondsey consists of a multi-level 400m circuit and Biz electric karts, the track is well constructed but small and narrow, as with nearly all other TeamSport tracks it is also quite bland and lacking fine details.

Although small the track layout was fun to drive and the various different floor surfaces added an extra challenge especially the red tiled section which was particularly slippery.

The karts performed well and were fairly evenly matched with fast acceleration and speed out the corners as you would expect with electric karts, but in our opinion petrol or LPG powered karts are superior than electric if just for the engine sound alone.

The facilities at Bermondsey were not of the same high quality as nearby sister track Charlton but they were more than adequate, the staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to help us.

It's worth noting that as with most TeamSport go karting venues they have a full course yellow rule in place and the race directors seem too eager to red flag a race for a seemingly simple situation, this happened to us several times throughout our visit and ruined any chance of a decent race.

Close to central London and the tourist hot spots this go karting track is in a great location and just a 30 minute walk or short bus journey from the Tower of London.

The main focus at this venue and as with most TeamSport tracks is on the facilities and interior finish of the venue rather than making the track look and drive great too, the track could do with resurfacing and some colour to brighten things up.

TeamSport Bermondsey has everything you would expect from a professional karting venue and is in a great location however we would recommend you check our nearby the nearby Charlton track or if you are prepared to travel just a little further then visit Capital Karts.

Venue Summary

TeamSport Bermondsey is a well established go karting venue in a great location within reach of the other tourist attractions in London.

The circuit is quite small and narrow and the various changing track surfaces affects how the karts drive and perform making it difficult to get consistent lap times.

The karts are electric and have their own driving characteristics, powerful and fast out the corners but in our opinion do not deliver the authentic karting experience you are paying for.

We would recommend TeamSport Bermondsey if you are visiting London and do not want to travel far, if you are prepared to travel then check out some of the other go karting tracks listed on this page.

TeamSport London - Mitcham

TeamSport Mitcham is a new addition to the TeamSport family and is a conveniently located in South London within easy reach of public transport and amenities.

Housed in a large 50,000 warehouse unit this venue is a little further out from central London and may not be suitable for visitors to London.

Inside the warehouse the have carefully created 3 different circuit layouts including two 400m circuits which can be joined to create a larger 800m circuit.

We raced in two 15 minute sessions on one of the small 400m circuit with a short break in-between, the track layout was fun to drive and but as with most of the other TeamSport venues was very much similar in style and rather unappealing.

The track is quite narrow and slippery which made any real racing difficult, also the full course yellow rule which TeamSport use was enforced a few times for seemingly simple incidents where an isolated yellow flag would have sufficed.

With an average lap time of just 25 seconds the circuit is easy to master and as a result our second session was not as much fun or as much of a challenge as the first, we would recommend racing on the full 800m track.

The karts performed great and were well maintained however they did struggle a little going up the ramp to the upper level so this may be an issue for heavier drivers.

The exterior of the venue could do with some attention to make it stand out from the other units on the industrial estate and the venue could be better sign posted from the main road.

As with most TeamSport tracks the attention to detail for the facilities is great however the same attention of detail doesn't seem to extend to the track appearance which appears quite dull and unappealing.

Venue Summary

TeamSport Mitcham is a fairly go karting London venue established in 2016, built in a 50,000 square foot warehouse they have 3 circuits on offer including a full 800m "international" go karting circuit.

Located a little further out from central London than other karting tracks, Mitcham may not be suitable for those who don't want to travel too far although there are great public transport links close to the venue.

In our opinion the track was too small and slippery to offer any real racing experience, if you are planning on visiting we would recommend racing on the full 800m circuit if possible.

Overall the track is professionally run and well presented as expected from a TeamSport venue, but for us Mitcham was also lacking on many aspects.

We would recommend TeamSport Mitcham if you close to South London or if you do not mind travelling a little to race, that said, if you are prepared to travel then for around the same journey time from central London you could visit Capital Karts.
